India have suffered a major blow with paceman Sreesanth ruled out of the test series against Sri Lanka. Experienced fast bowler Zaheer Khan was already ruled out due to a shoulder injury and this latest setback is bound to test Indias bowling bench strength.
Sreesanth suffered a ligament tear in his left knee. He was in doubt since yesterday after he missed a training session, but the extent of his injury was confirmed this morning.
Abhimanyu Mithun is now almost certain to debut with Ishant Sharma. This will be one of the most inexperienced bowling line-up that India has had for some time. Add to this the poor form that some of the bowlers have been in.
It will take a mighty team effort to down Sri Lanka. This is shaping up to be a good tournament and SL would certainly like to give Murali a winning farewell.
