England win 1st T20 agianst Pakistan

Eoin Morgan and Michael Yardy took England to a comfortable 5 wicket win in the first of two T20's against Pakistan. This was Pakistans first game since the Lords test that was hit with a match fixing controversy.

England won the toss and elected to field first, and paceman Tim Bresnan soon accounted for Kamran Akman. Mohammad Yousuf(26) then looked to take the game away from England, but was soon dismissed by Greame Swann.

Pakistan has a strong platform of 2/50 from 6.5 overs but did no manage to take off, losing wickets at regular intervals. Umar Akmal(35*) and Shahid Afridi(16*) added some quick runs in the final overs and took the score to 4/126.

Englands reply started badly with Shoaib Akhtar picking up two early wickets. However opener Steve Davies and Eoin Morgan dug in and propelled England towards the target. Davies was soon dismissed for 33, but when Collingwood was dismissed for a duck, England were in deep trouble at 5/62.

Yardy then joined Morgan at the crease, and the pair got England over the line with 17 balls to spare.
