Sri Lanka gave Murali a perfect farewell thrashing India by 10 wickets in the first of two test at Galle. Murali also picked up his 800th test wicket, the last one of Indias innings to cap off a memorable carreer.
However the Indian tail put up a brave fight on the final afternoon and gave Sri Lanka some anxious moments, especially Murali who was stranded on 799 wickets for 23 overs!
In the end it was Sri Lankas match and they deservingly won.
